Welcome to our Early Years Foundation Stage.

We are very proud of our caring and nurturing environment that we offer to our children. Our unit is a place full of creativity and happiness and can offer both you and your child a wonderful start to life at St Joseph's.

We have two classes in our foundation stage; we have our Nursery Class and our Reception Class. Both classes have access to our spacious and stimulating outdoor area where lots of imaginative and exploratory play takes place.

Nursery's Gallery

Nursery enjoyed creating their own storytelling tuff tray using a range of different materials and textures. They worked together to retell the story of 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. The children practised using the new vocabulary they have been learning. They thoroughly enjoyed using the puppets to get into character!

Forest School has been wonderful this term! We have explored the season of Autumn in many different ways using our senses to touch, smell, hear and see. The children have enjoyed exploring new vocabulary to describe the season of Autumn such as 'crunchy, windy, acorns, conkers, pine cones' and many more. The children have explored wildlife habitats, working together to improve our bug hotel in preparation for Winter. We have enjoyed collecting Autumnal items to use for creative activities, and the children have made a range of wonderful pieces of artwork inspired by Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day and the season of Autumn.
