Year 3

Parliament Week

In the autumn term, St. Joseph's children took part in UK Parliament week, which is a national campaign celebrating democracy in the UK, encouraging interest and engagement with Parliament and elections.

School Council meets Rossington Parish Council!

To mark the occasion, we invited two members of the Rossington Parish Council, Ken Guest (Chair of the Parish Council and Ward Councillor) and Mick Taylor (Parish Councillor), to visit St. Joseph's and meet with our school council members to discuss their roles as Councillors within our Rossington community. The school council were equipped with questions to ask about their jobs, what it takes to be a councillor, and to find out why they wanted to do it. The children were inspired by their dedication to their community.

Year 4 elections

Year 4 celebrated world parliament day in their classroom by holding a mini election. They voted for and elected table representatives who could vote on decisions that day. They learnt all about what the role of parliament is and how adults vote for representatives in our area to vote on our behalf on important decisions.

Anti-Bullying Week

Every year, St. Joseph's participates in Anti-Bullying week to raise awareness about the negative impacts of bullying, to promote the importance of individuality and to celebrate the values of inclusivity, respect and kindness.

St. Joseph's does Anti-Bullying week!

We began Anti-Bullying Week by inviting everyone in school to proudly wear odd socks. This is to encourage us all to celebrate each other's differences. The whole school also took part in a virtual World Kindness Day Assembly, and Year 5 took part in a workshop, A Play in a Day, which focused on online safety and anti-bullying.

St. Joseph's Junior Mayor 2023-24

We are so proud that one of our pupils was selected to be Doncaster's Junior Civic Mayor 2023/2024. She attended events across Doncaster alongside our Mayor, Ros Jones. Well done for being selected and being an inspiration to children in our community.
