Welcome to St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School, a place where children and adults unite together, learning in the light of Christ. I am so proud to be Headteacher at St. Joseph's, and I truly believe I have the most rewarding job in the whole world. St Joseph's is a single form entry school and we joined the St Francis Catholic Multi-Academy Trust in September 2022.
A child's journey at St. Joseph's can begin in our wonderful nursery, the term after their third birthday, and children leave us as confident, resilient learners, aged 11, ready for their secondary school education to begin. I am very lucky to lead a fantastic team who share my vision and work incredibly hard to ensure that we provide only the best for the children we serve and that no child is left behind.
St. Joseph's is a very special place, where the Gospel values Jesus taught us of respect, empathy and forgiveness are central to everything we do and very much alive in all that we think, do and say. We also celebrate how 'learning with character' gives our children a balance of personal and academic achievement, as we have embedded the Commando Joe character programme within our school, which is built around the acronym 'RESPECT.'
When a child enters our school, we welcome the whole family as we believe that parents are the first educators of their children. By working in partnership, I believe we can provide the highest quality of education and enable all of our children to achieve their full potential.
This website will give you a flavour of some of the exciting things that happen at St. Joseph's, such as recent events, celebrations and class news. However, if you have any questions about our school, please get in touch to arrange an appointment as visits are very warmly welcomed.
With every good wish,
Marianne Courtney
