Spring term - Amelia Earhart

Teamwork mission
Teamwork was key today as children (and their parents) had to rebuild a plane's wing, just as Amelia Earhart once was forced to as she was in the air flying. By blindfolding their partners, children navigated a tricky situation by using their communication skills.

Resilience mission
Taking Amelia Earhart's plane for inspiration, Year 4 researched the features of a successful aeroplane before building their own. When they wouldn't fly, their resilience was tested, so they adapted and changed their designs before trying again.

Autumn term - Leif Erikson

Communication mission
Year 4 were tasked with the challenge of creating a secret passage across the path to get their teams safely to the other side. They developed their communication skills in describing the path and also worked as a team to remember which routes people had previously tried.

Respect mission
When King Olaf called Leif Erikson back from his journey, he would have returned with a gift to signify the respect he held for his king. So, Year 4 were challenged with making King Commando Tom a gift...we had some very creative responses!
