Spring Term - Ernest Shackleton
Today's mission focused on collecting supplies for Ernest Shackleton's expedition to Antarctica. Children had to make the right choices to aid the success of their team; developing their communication and teamwork skills whilst having lots of fun too!
The class joined Shackleton's crew today, trying to raise funds for their Endurance Expedition to Antarctica. In order to impress wealthy benefactors, the children had to complete a sequence of activities to demonstrate their resilience and hard-working ethic.
Autumn Term - Nancy Wake
Year 6 joined Nancy Wake trying to get safely through enemy territory in France. The class and our parents/carers were split into four teams. They were tasked with designing a maze for another team to navigate. This mission was a test of communication, teamwork and self-awareness.
Our mission today with Commando Tom was based on Positivity, Resilience and Communication. In teams, they each took turns to look at a cone design and then brought what they memorised back to their team to replicate. It wasn’t easy! They had to work on strategies, team work and resilience. When in a difficult situation or faced with a tricky task, they really had to stay positive. Even when they thought that their task was complete, they were encouraged to check and evaluate. Well done Year 6 - they practised essential life skills today.
